Ginger and I have had an amazing year. I have a wall full of red ribbons and even a cup for winning our first every 90cm SJ comp.

So as a last go for the year I entered one final comp of the year, I entered the prelim and novice.

I then had the following text conversation 2 days for the comp:

RI- I have entered you in your classes and you elem time is 1230.
Me - think you have sent this to the wrong person
RI- No (smiling face, wink wink)
Me - not done very well at Novice lately so happy to end the session there
RI - you need to challenge yourself and Abli (smiling fae wink wink)
Me - not just yet but thanks
RI - No more prelim this is your last one. Plus no charge and you cab be H/C (smiling wink wink)
RI Does the smiling face face and wink wink make is better
Me - No
Me - Thank you

So it happened. We went in for our prelim and he left amazing. I smiled walking in and grinned like a cat walking out.

Novice next - Again loved it medium still crap but the rest felt awesome

Didn't want to know my scores as was on a high pony felt like a dream.

Elem - RI called it for me (I only looked at it the day before) I didn't hear one of the calls and went wrong (it comes up really quickly). -2 points already. Settled back down he was super keen and just wanted to go so had a couple of strides of canter on the medium trot 4 points for the move (oops).

On the second simple change from B - E I got my timing wrong and he bucked (oops again 4 points)
An 8 for out canter 5m loop in for the school on one rein but broke on second 4 point.

Then I wasn't listening but did a perfect up the centre line in canter not trot (4 point)

I could not laughing and smiling pony tried is hardest mummy was a biff. Still schooled 56.9 in our first attempt with all the mummy mistakes above.

We won the prelim on 69.9% and the novice at 67.8. Very happy mummy love my RI for having so much faith in us and next year we will be doing Novice and playing at elem.

Fantastic :D well done on your wins and given you'd only looked at it the day before that's none to shoddy in the ele either, extra carrots in order me thinks :p

That does sound right - I mean your RI is right.
It is better for horse and rider to move on (you dont need consistent perfection at a low level, even if the rosettes look nice). Higher levels are quite enabling and I think that is because higher levels require more of your attention? Just heard this morning that our RI may possibly have a horse on which I could go on with Novice. So if you are doing some agreeable tests, please post the numbers here.
