Buddy not picking up

No idea what is wrong with Buddy, he did an hour yesterday, including jogging up the hill on the way home and today has done 45 minutes, again full of himself, really marching on, ears pricked, eyes on stalks, several spectacular spookies....like a young Buddy again.....so proud of him.

Been ridden 4 days in a row, yesterday we had a great performance of planting, snorting and generally being a wally as he saw a squirrel run across the road. Took nearly 10 mnutes to get along the road, a bit like that video of the two aussie horses and the squirrel which was hilarious if you have seen it

Buddy will be tired today. We went out hacking past the racing yard, we had 2 racehorses ahead of us and then four behind us. So Buddy was getting on his toes showing these horse what a dancing heavy horse can do.....I let the four pass us - bad idea - he then continued like a crab on speed, prancing sideways, head between knees, snorting, very impressive. Even more so when they turned around and he had to pass them all.

Bounced all the way home, dripping with sweat. Did him with No Sweat and he had his lunch and went out. He was just standing in a dwam so took him some hay up the field so he is now standing in the same place but eating the hay.

Hope he won't be sore but it was totally self inflicted. Measured him, he has gone up to 553kg which is a nice weight for him, better covered, bit more muscle he went to 514 which was way too low, when fully fit he was around 538kg so going into winter happy with how he is looking

Someone has a new rug and a big tummy, ridden today, full of himself not approving of storm damage fences painted a different colour. He is a good weight for winter and between the ears as good as ever.

quite a bit of it is a big coat as well, but yes it is a good tummy. he is proud of it.

Given two years in a row he has been really ribby in April, he seems to be keeping his weight on well so far this winter. Fingers crossed we can prevent his dip in the spring as last year he was very ribby.

Buddy back in reasonable work, getting ready for the show season, mane is a disaster and he needs a corset for that tummy. Not the horse he was in his prime but not bad for a big horse age 27.
