Hi everyone,

Was wondering if you could help. I am looking for a book that explains basic flatwork and schooling. I ride at a riding school (after spending years riding other people's horses) and am now doing more technical work than I have before (not massively technical!). I ride once a fortnight and I think my brain has turned to mush - I always forget the aides for various movements / exercises esp lateral work and which leg / hand needs to go where.

Basically I'm looking for a book with clear descriptions of how to ride school movements so I can have a quick revise before my lessons.

Any recommendations welcome.

Cheers

:)

I'd reccommend 101 schooling exercises fior horse and rider by Jaki Bell, it has pictures of each exercise and it very clear about what aids to use etc.

Ditto Rea. It explains how difficult each exercise is, what to do, what to look for and what to do if things go wrong. Well worth the money.
