The ponies and I had a visit from Ale last week. The weather was a bit miserable but at least it wasn't pouring with rain like it had been the previous day. We took the dogs for a walk up on the heath and then went for a nice hack in the woods for about an hour and a half. I rode Mario, a soppy 4-year-old who thinks he's a Labrador, and Ale had Tobiana who is one of the polo ponies but hasn't yet joined the others on their winter break. It kindly didn't rain on us and the horses were on their best behaviour so it was nice and relaxing and we just wandered along having a natter. After the hack we walked down to the village for a pub lunch - I had a gourmet burger, Ale had fish and a free lesson in how to pour ketchup :p

Few pics (not great quality as I have a cheap phone that doesn't like dull weather!). The black guy is Barney, Mario's half-brother. He's off indefinitely with an injury and hasn't been handled much for about 2 months, so he's gone a bit feral and has days when I'm not even allowed to touch him, but clearly Ale came on one of his much more sociable days

Was only an hour and a half on the train, almost 3 hours home due to delays but still quicker than my driving at the moment!
