I'm not actually looking for a share at the moment, but may be in a month or so when I've come to a decision. I wont go into it all, but my share isn't working out as well as I'd hoped, partly due to the horse I'm riding napping badly (I posted a thread about it a week or two ago), and I have strong doubts that I'm going to be able to overcome it, as he is a very strong and stubborn horse. I have a long term health condition, and don't have what it takes either physically or mentally to do battle with a big horse, and I don't want to get stressed about riding and lose my confidence if it goes badly wrong. I just want to go for a quiet hack on a well behaved horse for an hour or two.
I don't have much money due to not being able to work, and I've been very lucky that my shares have been on the basis of help with stable duties in winter, and poo picking in the summer, in return for riding once or twice a week. I know that most people ask for money in return for riding, which I fully understand, as keeping horses is so expensive. I would just be interested to know if you think there are people who would be prepared to let me ride once or twice a week and see to their horse on those days, either for no payment, or if I say covered the cost of shoeing so paid approx £30 a month. I am mature (in my 40s) and very reliable; I would never let an owner down unless in an emergency, and I am responsible and caring. I take looking after animals to a high standard very seriously. I don't disappear in winter, and go to see to the horse in all weathers including snow and ice.
I am an average rider so I'm not good enough to school and improve horses, but I'm quite capable of hacking on my own on a generally well behaved horse, as I have been for a number of years. On the basis of this, if you were looking for a sharer would you consider me, or would you be looking for someone who could offer a larger financial contribution? I'm feeling a bit down about how things are going, so if I thought I could find another more suitable share if I need to, it would hopefully give me a bit of a lift. Thanks for your thoughts.
