Are driving bits a standard size like ridong bits ?

I'm trying to find a bit but having trouble, whilst on the search I noticed that there were none bigger than 6 inches - are they available in a bigger size ?

Yes they are but I can't even remember where I bought mine from was so long ago - Might be worth emailing some of the big breeders of Shires and Clydesdales - I am sure some of their driving horses must come up bigger than 6 inch.

Pony and carriage do a wide selection of larger bits Mrs. I have two 6.75" butterfly bits (one with lozenge, one with straight bar) if any use to you.

Excellent thanks, it would be my horse that has only settled in a bizarre bit that the trainer has used and now after purchasing a harness (more than my saddle ! ) I'm desperately trying to find the bit in a 6.5 inch size but the only one I have found is just under £100 !
