Hi
To become an animal nutrionist it is important you have a strong background in science and a degree. Courses like animal management, zoology, vet science, animal care, equine science will help. If you have a more general degree in science- biology/ science related degree it may be neccessary to study a specialist postgraduate degree in nutrition.
Work experience in this area is also important- eg work shadowing a nutritionist.
Animal nutrition is an extermally competitve area to get into so getting the best grades possible is vital. Some employers may also require an employee to have a degree, masters and PhD so it may involve several years of study alongside a lot of money!
Good websites to look on for further info are www.ucas.ac.uk,http://www.nutritionsociety.org/,http://www.bsas.org.uk/ and www.prospects.ac.uk
Hope that helps and good luck
