American Combined Training Event...

I want to participate in my first one-day combined training event in April. The info I received wasn't too clear, so I have a question:

I thought I heard somewhere that a CT event (one-day) does not include cross-country -- only dressage and stadium. Is this true?

Just wanting to make sure so that I can school for what I need to be schooling for!!!

Ah, it depends. You can get 2-phase competitions and also 3-phase. It all depends on what's being offered. In my area you're as likely to find one as the other.

If it says "Combined Training" then I'd guess it's just dressage and SJ, whereas if it says "Horse Trial" it's probably more likely to have 3 phases.

Yeah most of the combined events are dressage and show jumping. They would indicate in if it includes x-country usually.
