A weather thread

Billy does that sometimes with me when i change soaked rugs in the field. He was worse when he was younger. Tries it on still now occasionally but i succeed in the end.

I have given up chasing him. Its only been an issue since they switched from full grazing to a new strip each morning. I could put a head collar on and he would be no bother, but I have high expectations for him to come when called, to stand when he's told to and not to leave until he is told to go!

Im with you on that one. A good horse is a respectful one. I do try and get round arguments with Billy, by rugging him when hes feeding if i can. Just so i dont get myself stressed with his numpty head antics.

Hey, I offered him the rug, even followed him around with it for a few seconds, but it's his choice at the end of the day! He will be so angry with me later!
Sorry. I was meaning it as a joke. As in he would tell you later that you were mean for allowing the situation rather than him taking responsibility for his actions.

Oh i really wish the forecasters would give better predictions.

One says 6° lows, the other is forecasting -0°.

I want to get chunky trimmed, he hasnt been done since July, which is really good going. He got mega smelly feet a month ago and the frog grooves were black with thrush. Hes suddenly shed his frogs and some sole recently. The shed seems to have stopped the smelly thrush too. Hes now obviously walking on rims as a result so desperately needs a trim. When he was done in january this year it was mega frosty and he was really lame after the trim. Could barely put one foot in front of the other. So i want to avoid a trim when we get minus temps. One forecast is showing minus from this weekend.
He looks a bit lamer so i think its where the frogs and sole have dropped out so hes not getting the proper support.
Guess I'll see what date the farrier offers. But i dont want to mess him around cancelling.
