Thought I would share a few photos from yesterday.

I took Major with a friend to a local school with a full set of Show Jumps for a practice. For those that don't know I have had Major since he was 5 and he has always been 'tricky' and particularly when it comes to jumping. He is a serial stopper but we have cracked the XC now and we are trying with the SJ.

At one stage a pole on the floor was difficult and he has put me in hospital before.... But we persevere and I am determined that we will do an ODE (and not disgrace ourselves) this year.

I was over the moon with him yesterday, after having a Alpaca related melt down he was awesome, kept it small and straightforward to make sure he stays confident but he was probably too forward! He didn't think about stopping once and I am really proud of him. Looking forward to this year, let's hope it's a good one. :)

And a few clips.

Thank you Trewsers, we have a lot to work on but it's much easier to work on when he's not spending all his time planting/spinning!

He is worth the effort though, he's a lovely boy. :)

Good boy! Fillers and everything! He looks great. What is the head-shaky thing he does after he's jumped, is he trying to bog off or is it just a Major Special? :p

He does it whenever he gets excited, you can't see it very well but he leaps around with his front end at the same time. He does it in the field too it's definitely a Major Special lol

I can see the leaping around with the front end in one of the pictures. Respect! He does look as if he is enjoying himself, though

Ahh, he's brill a male version of my becca. You do make it look easy though, i wish I had the confidence to jump mine like that. I tried a couple of jumps at the end of last year, she got herself that excited, spooked, bucked and farted scared herself and spooked again and I ended up on my backside, it was apparently very funny !! She tends to put her head down, shake it about, does a couple of bucks and then goes hell for leather, like "whoopee I'm off " .
