Okay, so I know a cats purr has always been known to be because they are happy and content but is there more to a cats purr than I/we know?

I've heard they sometimes purr when they are angry too?

Whenever I walk into a room where my cat is, and I always say hello to her and give her a kiss etc. she purrs and rubs herself on me in a very friendly, content way  I like to think she super loves her mumma.

Ah yes I've heard they purr if they're very anxious. Not sure which is true, anxious or angry or even any? I pretend mine purrs through pure love for me but to be honest it's when he's happy and contented or wants his food :giggle:

My current cats purr when stroked or sitting on me. We had one however who used to purr so much at the vets they couldn't check his heart, in his case he was such a soft chap though he liked being handled by anyone so it probably was still happiness
