4 dimensional pony accesses all areas

Well, last night I left Mattie in his small area with hay and access to the shelter and half of the water trough. I wanted to separate him from Charlie because he can't take being herded about, it is bad for his leg. Charlie was on 3/4 of the track, excluded from Mattie's section.

This morning Mattie and Charlie were both in the restricted area. Honestly it looks as if they both wandered around all night without any fences at all: most of the poo was under the trees in the bottom corner of the field, their favourite sheltering spot. I might as well not have closed any gates at all. And yet everything was as I left it, electric on, gates closed.

What happened? How do they do this?

I don't think he would know how, he is innocent of jumping as far as I'm aware. And it looks as if Mattie was out as well. Honestly I'm stumped.

You'd be surprised how apt horses are at going under, over or through things! Pete can undo gates, so we have to be very careful about things like that - he's also been caught shimmying under fencing!

I wouldn't think it was someone, unless you have other cause to believe so.
