I know but there is a mountain of work to do believe me.....
There is but, you’ll get there, you’ll cross each hurdle off as you do them and you’ll eventually get some peace restored. Glad that your Mum decided to accept the flat, you must have been relieved about that.

Got the keys today, have given the main room and bathroom first coat of paint apart from the top 1ft which will do with steps tomorrow

Move in date going to be after 19th NOVEMBER as the carpet has to be made and that's the leadtime. First coat of paint done all over, so at least i don't have to rush now as wanted to get the decorating done fast so as not to hold up the carpet fitter. Such is life!

We’ve found long lead times on loads of things just now, especially trades, everyone is telling me they are catching up on the back log from lockdown, we were supposed to be having new windows in end of August, we’re still waiting, apparently the suppliers are waiting on parts from their suppliers who are waiting on their suppliers......
Any chance you could pick a different carpet that’s already in stock?

nothing in stock in 5 metres wide which is what we need. Some of the lead times are even longer. All the folks moving house recently buying carpets etc refurbishing have caused back logs. I am doing the decorating myself as usually getting trades around here is a nightmare so just didn't bother trying this time.

Well, at least you have a date. Something to look forward to!
Bed is also on a 3 week lead time it also means that i don't have to do hours of painting, can do a bit stop and do more next day. I have painted the walk in wardrobe so can now start putting clothes in there and next week, going up for the stair lift coming out, so can pack up the kitchen and bring stuff down and put in immediately. We can also do the move using the horsebox as the only thing that was an issue was the bed, the rest of it is easy enough to move by ourselves.

Ordered unit to block off bed area and create a bedroom within the room, got another coat of paint on half the area, finish that today, fridge freezer and cooker ordered. Have ordered hangers for the wardrobe so hope to unload stuff from the car over the weekend and wehn i go up on wednesay bring back kitchen and anything that can go straight in.

You're on fire! Often things seem really daunting, but when you actually get stuck in, it doesn't seem so bad.

I have almost unloaded the first lot of stuff from the car..... you have no idea how many clothes mum has......i have almost filled the walk in wardrobe, had to go out and buy hangers.....and i know there are two chests in the front bedroom which are full as well. When i got back, asked mum to make some decisions on handbags - 10 - hats - 15 - and bits of jewellery. Now in huff.

Oh dear, do you think old people just like to collect things? When my Mum died and we were sorting out her things we found about 20 pairs of brand new shoes, still in the boxes, my Dad had no idea she even had them, she always loved shoes.

And she fell out with me big time yesterday when i asked for a little participation ie. which of the 20 hats and jewellery that you don't use do you need to keep, went into major sturmph so back to square one. Playing games with OH, telling him he is 'naive' about the relationship between her and me - what relationshop we don't have one any more other than i do my best and all you do is moan. He is utterly fed up with her as well. Can't wait till she moves in and then she can blame me for EVERYTHING as she isn't participating in the process and all we are getting is I lost my brother, I lost Yvonne (her best suppost, such a shame she died of cancer and it wasn't me instead) and now I am losing my house.....
