Rather than taking over on The Bean thread, how often do you clean your girls bits?

Jess insists on weekly udder cleans in the summer (picking the smegma out from between her teats) and probably every month in winter, I don't ever specifically wash it with soap etc, when she gets a bath I'll give it a go but not other than that. Her back end I routinely check and just wipe up if she's looking grubby, usually with baby wipes :p

I do pretty much the same as you @Jessey
In winter though they only get done a couple of times because it doesn’t build up like it does in summer.

This is all new to me because this is the first time in over 10 years of having horses I've owned a mare! Probably once a month maybe a bit longer atm, will see in summer.

Oooh.... Is forgotten all about udders!

I tried to clean Gracie's last summer, got a cow kick and a mardy mare face for touching, thought "I must try twitching her because she might be sore rather than just affronted"....and then FORGOT!!!

Thanks for the reminder.....

Oh lordy! I have never cleaned our girls:oops: I do look - but they look clean enough?!!!! Chloe likes special leg scratches and likes her belly tickling and scratching so probably wouldn't object. Storm's never look grubby either? Hmm. Well, if it ain't broke and all that:oops::p

Jess' udder never looks dirty, but when I feel in the folds between her boobs there is clods of muck

When in season because its "on offer", as oppose to getting kicked or bitten.
We don't have a bean we have an allotment!

Well Gracie was clipped today, so I took 2 x 25ltr containers of hot water to the yard and gave her a full bath afterwards. I managed to give her udders a good rub, including in between, with the sponge without argument so that's progress.
