I decided to measure Hanks feet last night as our coast trip will be a lot of miles for him and a lot of the tracks are pretty stony, so I thought I would keep an eye out for a pair of boots for him, while I was at it I thought I would re-measure Jess' feet.

    Hank at 8hh and 120kg has feet measuring 3 1/16" x 3 1/16"
    Jess at 15.1hh and 560kg has feet measuring 5" x 4 3/4"

So even though Jess is more than 466% of Hank's weight and a hair over 190% in height, her feet are only 160% compared to his.....not very proportionate, its no surprise really that ponies have far less problems with their tootsies :) can you tell I am bored at work :p

Ha, I know what you mean, my old cob had huge plates of meat for her size, never wore a boot.
New one has been barefoot for 3 months now, I can recommend Scoot Boots for the front, really easy to put on.

Scoots didn't suit Jess and don't go small enough for hank unfortunatly.

I am always surprised by other horse hooves in comparison to the cobs side plates.
You can see them more now trimmed up front feather.
You know I will be back on this thread telling you the size later don't you. :D

Boots we used to use Trails. She has been non boots ridden two years now.
She weighs 470kg and stands 14hh so if you are really really bored you can do the maths. ;)

We (field crew) laugh at my cob hes got little hooves compared to all the horses and he does little twinkle toes steps over wet ground when we are hacking and has a fairly quiet hoof beat on concrete compared to his buddy who is a right stomper lol

Ziggy has little feet too, little round ones, and like a lot of Connies he has a low action and being barefoot he goes along the lanes shush shush shush!
