What a wonderful place. Tell me do you speak Norwegian? Or is Roros like the other places I have been to in Scandinavia, where people speak better English than one?

I have been meaning to upload pics I took of horses pulling Russian sleds for Wally and others to explain.I wanted to ask whether the long wooded pieces at the side served as brakes. It looked to me as if a driver could put his foot down on the end, and press is on the ground to slow the sled or prevent it sliding into the horse.
Did anyone ever mention something like this? Do you have a sideways picture of the tack?

I was with a Norwegian friend. My daughter speaks some and I try! Most folk speak great English.
No brakes on the sleighs, I think. The breeching straps round their bum should stop the sleigh going into the horses when going downhill.

I loved a similar museum on one of the islands in Stockholm, though I have to say the snow adds a special dimension to the houses you saw!
Yes, I saw it. I will be interested in the replies. I saw no evidence of using the foot as a brake, tbh.
