Not much to add - I felt unwell last Sunday so I just popped in the school for 30 minutes, was hoping it'd pass as I started riding but it got worse so I had to cut it short.

    Overall totals 222.4km in 39hrs 20mins plus 11 hours 55mins schooling

Just did some play out front in the yard yesterday
Could not go far due to waiting for a packade needing a signarure
    that UGH never came:(

He did quite nicely doing cavaletti with me not circling with him and sending him to the
    tire etc.

Then I let him hang out a few hrs in the rd pen here.
But being out back I could not play due to waiting for the stupid package.

He was cute he went to sleep in the sun.

Next sping we will get the stalls all set up to have them here.

Today is still a wait for the stupid package its kind of warm out but soon will be ugh
    40+ winds again:(:mad::mad::mad:.

Temps today will almost be too hot for much with winter coats.

.He seemed pretty happy dozing out there yesterday

After I let him hang out a bit. I'm sure Andi is saying move closer
I KNOW there are carrots on the saddle!!!

    IMG_3254.JPG

I also got some more fun things yesterday to play with.
They are actually tire stands from a store chain that is closing
but I can use them as markers or to put poles on
Just something else fun to play with
I got a bunch of them
I could even drill holes in the top for flags etc:rolleyes:.

Had a totally awesome ride/play this morning!:);)

Toni was there and we set up the cones with xmas hats
    and we played.

Sonny was awesome we did some trot.
NOT having any wind was really REALLY nice:D.

It made 40 f seem quite nice!!!

We are supposed to have another non windy day tomorrow!!
    WOO HOO 2 in a row!!!~

Levi looks very cute in his xmas hat
    IMG_3276.JPG

    IMG_3268.JPG

We did some trot today and he was very good.
The stirrups do feel good .
    IMG_3290.JPG

I was cutting the circles a little too tight to get a smooth circle.
I will have to work on that next time.

We also worked on shoulder in.

Rebecca and Libby left when we were just finishing up.
I will miss her and Libby:(.

Sonny says Ahhhhh this was the best part!!!
    being done!!!

Yesterday was not a bad day weather wise
    But I did not ride.

I have lousy sinus and woke up with
A massive sinus headache I could not shake.

Later in the day it was a damp cold the kind that goes thru you but with
Headache finally gone I decided to play.

I got some awesome traveling circles at trot along the road
Then great cavaletti and tire on the side yard
And super fun in the cavaletti round pen.

HE got a little silly in the pen but not horrible
    Caught up on some more
Horse shows I have taped from
    RED TV.

Got a couple good ideas for play.
From Craig Cameron and Clinton Anderson

    One show Clinton Was using
    His AWESOME obstacle course
And actually dimensions for some of
    Them.:D;):)

I also watched a fun Richard Winters
    Show
HE was teaching working with cows
    Some place in the Uk;).

On Saturday it drizzled all day so as I couldn't ride Harvey I decided to give us both the day off.

On Sunday after supporting E at a local dressage competition I decided to try my hand at lunging. I have done it a whole once before (with a trained horse) and I have seen Harvey lunged so thought it would be ok. It started well - I sent him off in walk and off he went. Well until he got onto the circle anyway. He then decided it was great fun and cantered round like he was on the wall of death with a few bucks for luck. After a while he hadn't settled and I was getting more than a little dizzy so I reeled him in and he came to a halt. I then fell over (because I was dizzy) which spooked him and he set off again!

I tried for about 15 minutes with not much success so I then gave up for now. I am trying to arrange a lesson for us both for next week!

    In hand
    15 minutes

    Totals
    Hacking
    425.5 miles
    129 hours 50

    Schooling
    25 hours 50

    In hand
    15 minutes

    Hope you were ok.

    Ahhh yes to getting dizzy
    After he learned to lunge.
Try to learn traveling circles you can do
    It in place too
A d you don,t turn around WITH the horse.
It's his responsibility to go all the way AROUND YOU and maintain pace til you change it.
    It's quite. Nice here TODAY
    Almost spring LIKE.
I just did some riding found the front and side yards cavaletti tire etc.
And I'm sitting on him now for a little break of some grass.
I forgot my camera and my bridle but I played with some turns in my ring I saw on Craig Cameron yesterday
And they went quite well in my little ring
With no fences and no bit.

So I think work on some things with the bit in her ring has made some good progress.

Now we will just toodle about for a while.

Ugh had off and on sore throat for a couple of days:(.

Did play yesterday and just got back from play today its
    ugh snowing out:mad::mad::mad::mad:.
I hope we are on the 3 inch not 7 inch end :(.
But omg Atlanta Georgia is getting a foot:eek::eek::eek::eek:.

Yesterday play I played over here cavaletti etc
and sending thru tire he was good. I did a bit of play in
cavaletti pen then let him hang out.

My husband calls me in the house your boy is running around like a nut~!!
I look out and yup he is so then I ran to get my camera and he had started to settle down. NO idea why he did that unless he was sort of joining in with the goats next to him that had saterd to run around.
Thankfully he had not gotten sweated up .

Today its not that cold out but it did start to spit snow at dawn.
I wanted to longline but I don't want to have my leather tack etc get wet.
so I had found my old fleece sursingle and a glow orange nylon headstall put a snaffle in it and off I went.
The ok to get it wet set up worked ok;).

We did some awesome longline and it was snowing but not that bad and its dead calm so it looks like a snow globe.

After I played I sat in the car for a bit and let him have some grass near the car.
OMG not its REALLY COMING DOWN though.
I got play done just in time!!!!

The sad thing is that hunters will be out in full force :eek::eek:
with this snow being able to track deer :(:(:(.

Late in the afternoon yesterday I heard some very loud shots not far off the back. It could not have been that far off the
    property:mad:.

If I do try to take him for a walk today or something
later on I will stay away form woods lines and have lots of orange on even in the yard here but id stay
this side of all the buildings....

With the wood chip edge I put in the cavaletti round pen
that footing should be good though.

I did end up playing I did not drive over but walking him back
ugh pooped right in the middle of her driveway :(

Walked up and put him in one of the100ft rd pens on grassy hill
then went back to get car put fork in trunk sticking out thank god I had swept off early this amand it had mostly melted.

Then went back to play in the big rd pen
Wow he really got silly and blew it out but the footing of deep snow seemed awesome to HAVE AT IT
get it out of YOUR SYSTEM ..

    AND OMG DID HE EVER

it took a long long time to settle him but if he needs to blow it out better its not when I'm on him

then my husband came up to rd pen with snow blower making a path --that was awesome so he also made a path around the edge of the ring and one more path across on the lower mid line

Thankfully sonny did not get really sweaty at all
but we did more slow work then I did some walking in the road before taking him back .

I had to be careful having had some sore throats this week
I ended up getting pants wet above my boots
thankfully I had 2 pairs on but I did not want to be out and
    getting cold AND WET..
Sonny got some long grass nibbles under the snow in that rd pen while I walked the path for my husband to snow blow for me
    in the ring.

    It was good!;):):D

with a path to that rd pen
I'm going to see how long the snow footing stays good
it is much much bigger than the cavaletti pen near the goats

And woo hoo I have the second pristine one too up there;):):D

One was going to be a freelonging obstacle pen.

Looks like he really enjoyed the snow @horseandgoatmom!

03/12 I went on a nice solo hack. Really busy with dogs and walkers but got a few trots in, it was a nice day. We did a nice circular route, we had some problems on the same route a few weeks ago so wanted to try it again. He did try and turn back a few times but I pushed him through it. It was pretty pleasant overall, we were out for an hour and 15 minutes and covered 5.8km.

Yesterday the weather was rubbish. It had been raining all morning - not particularly heavily but it was cold and miserable. It started to stop as I got to the yard so we took the opportunity to get out, as soon as we got on it started to snow. We managed a brief hack, I forgot to turn on my tracker but I think we were out for about 50 minutes and must've travelled 3.5km more or less, maybe more. It was quite nice on the way out but as we turned back the wind and snow were in our face so by the time we got back we were pretty cold and wet! Rugs back on pretty sharpish for the horses in their stables! Typically it stopped snowing as soon as we got back. Think we've been quite lucky weather wise compared to some others, it was too wet for it to settle and it didn't last too long.

    Overall totals 236.7km in 41hrs 25mins plus 11 hours 55mins schooling
