So who's got what planned this weekend?

I've got no real plans apart from tinkering with the ponies and taking them out for their first 1 hour plus hack in a while, we might have to get a picnic as Hank gets tired and gets really slow once we break the hour barrier :p

Weather forecast is pants "Showers, which will be slow-moving....". Um... Isn't that rain? :p

In any case, it looks like tomorrow morning will be the best time to catch a ride on my beloved mare. If the weather is truly pants, I shall be binge-watching The Walking Dead

Sat morning I'm working down the yard. Then meeting my mum down Ale's field spending some time with them both. Sat evening I'm out for a drink to celebrate someone I know engagement.

And Sunday I'm going hacking first thing and then ragworting Ales field some more. Sunday evening I plan on doing nothing :D

Need to check the weather but all being well......riding Zi (taking turns with OH lol) , finishing some things like helping OH make proper stable doors - and also the roofer is coming back in the morning to finish the byre slates, yaye no more drips! Hopefully eating at our new picnic bench in the back garden - sampling some of OH's finest cooking. Re potting the chillis (again, they are huge now) and doing some other gardeny type things. Also plan on an evening beach walk Saturday night, it's beautiful later on and so peaceful. I need to add to my shell collection too!

I've got a slightly extended weekend as people are going on hols now the kids have broken up. So it means they cancel me too. So I'm only working 1hr on Monday.
Might try to ride tmw morning as it looks like rain in the afternoon. The girls will do Sunday.
I've got my rams paddock to finish strimming. I started the other day but there's still more nettles and thistles to be done.
I noticed I have some ragwort flowering in the hay field so I will have a walk round and dig out that before it gets cut for hay. Only 10 acres to walk.
Might wean the lambs off there mummies as well. So a bit of field moving for all the sheepies.

@Lissie I am excited for you! But won't you havd the same issue as with Charlie? He was a fab pony. Or do you have a plan to address how you felt about riding a horse who isn't Bailey? I really hope it works out for you xx

Hacking out Saturday and Sunday morning, Saturday afternoon out (somewhere nic???) with husband and Sunday afternoon pub lunch out with three friends. Should be good as it's a few months since we last got together.

I'm had a chilled night tonight - I've discovered pink gin and caught up with some of the Event Rider Masters series too.

Tomorrow I've got an Equipilates riding lesson in the morning & need to buy some feed & other supplies for Pete. Not much planned for the rest of the day, other than popping back to sort out Pete again in the afternoon. In the evening, I'm just heading over to my boyfriend's.

Sunday morning, a lovely friend on the yard is bringing Pete in so BF & I can go to brunch with his sister and a couple of his friends. Then in the afternoon/evening I'm hoping to hack Pete providing the weather isn't completely hideous - he's not been ought for a week, so won't risk our return in wind & rain ...! I probably ought to lift my rubber mats as I ran out of time last weekend too, but that prospect doesn't enthrall me :D

Have a great weekend everyone!

Well my weekend is going fab so far! Managed a small ride on Zi last night - which was a BIG deal for me as the wind speed was 35 mph at one point and although that doesn't sound bad, I was on my toes ( he wasn't!!) and it was sunny so I sort of thought "go for it". Anyway roofer man has come back this morning and is up on the byre so that's great knowing my girlies won't get dripped on this winter! Just cooking sausage rolls to serve up with baked beanz and coffee and then heading into the village later for some odds and ends. Beach walk later........delightful very happy and hope everyone else is too:D:D

Depends on the weather. It looks like a total washout is forecast with winds in between. It's been like it most of the week.

I introduced Gracie to a couple of stubble fields this morning. I think she is in season because she was very shouty to other horses and although she behaved, she did feel a bit like a coiled spring. I don't usually know when she is in season. I've never ridden her in stubble before so I mainly walked around as I don't want her to expect a blast every time. She was a bit proncky for her first canter so I shouted at her foot the first time which scared her and made her worse!!. But subsequent ones were controlled and she behaved.

I brought mine in and gave Rummy a good groom and also had to file his feet a tad to tidy them up. My friend popped by and she helped me to poo pick :D
It has been very warm here with a lot of showers, but I still poo picked in just a t shirt in the rain as I get too hot and bothered. I gave Marley lots of loving, which he just adores:). I think I will give riding a miss today and take him out tomorrow.
I will pop down later to turn them both out again.

I did manage to ride today as I had stated in my post yesterday that I was hoping too. It was very warm but I still enjoyed it.:D We rode for only 40 mins though as the pesky cleggs started to come out in droves  I then picked up the poo in the field from last night and then I noticed I had some Ragwort on the bank which is on the other side of my fence. I have a steep bank around the perimeter of my field which has a sheugh (shuck) most of the way around it, so I climbed over the fence and had to balance along the bank pulling out the Ragwort as I didn't want it seeding in my field. I threw it over the fence and have collected it up in the wheel barrow.I will burn it tomorrow. So far I have been lucky and haven't had any in the actual paddocks. My back and hip are now killing me but I am glad to have gotten it all out.:D
