I thought I would do a little report about our trip to Royal Windsor.

We were meant to go last year but although we camped in the rain in the lorry park we never got onto the showground as they cancelled that day so this year I was determined to get in the ring, placings didn't matter I just wanted a nice picture and to say I competed at windsor.

So we got up at 4 on the day to leave at 5 and arrived at the showground at 6.30am which gave us plenty of time to look around find the rings and get me and B ready.

Our 1st class was the in hand senior for horses 19 -23 years old (B is 20) this is the first show of the year that is a direct route qualifier for Olympia so I wasn't surprised to find out there were 23 in my in hand class.
B can sometimes find in hand a little boring and goes to sleep but luckily she found it all very exciting (without being silly) and showed herself off so I was really pleased with her.

We stood and waited in line while they added up the marks and then the announcer said we will be calling in reverse order starting from 6th and then he called ME AND B in 6th place at Windsor. I was so happy I couldn't believe it we got 2 Lovely rosettes one from Windsor and one from SSADL the society that runs the class and won some prize money.

We had a bit of a break before the senior ridden class had a look around did some shopping and then went back to get ready.
42 entered for the ridden I was half asleep by the time we went in at 3pm she was a star on the go round even when horse around her were having major tantrums.
Sadly numpty jockey fell asleep during the individual show and we had a wrong leg so unsurprisingly we weren't placed but I didn't mind we got our finalist rosette and we got to ride at windsor and got placed in the morning so I was happy anyway.

You must be so proud! Lovely pictures, and what a beautiful day - a bit different from last year, eh!

She looks as if she thoroughly enjoyed herself :)

How nice to read about Windsor and that it went so well for you and for your horse. Well done! Reflects well on both of you doesnt it?
