Rear 'barn' doors/split ramp on ifor?

Well I bought one from the ifor dealer! It's a black 510 classic 2006 year with the split rear ramp. Really pleased, hopefully Moët won't have a problem with the metal strip up the middle if the ramp!

See, I knew you would love it. I would really love it, am sure even the loading challenged Tobes would love it and am sure that Moet will too!!!

And am pleased you have gone for the 510. Have major issues with their sizing of horses for their trailers. Tobes leapt of the ramp of the 505 quite dangerously. Friend who I gave a lift to who has a 505 said her TB launches herself off the ramp so could I position Tobes near the ramp for when she came off..#

I did, but TB never fussed at all about the 510 ramp. I reckon anything over 15.2 needs the 510.
 
Travelled two horses with it today, was brilliant, could hardly feel them. Moët loaded normally so not bothered by the metal strip down the middle of the ramp. AND I even used the ramp as barn doors to sweep out the poo so it doesn't get stuck in the ramp tread :) I an so so pleased, feel like I've won the lottery this year - new car and new trailer!!! Both are second hand but new to me ;)

I am currently trailer shopping to upgrade my old Ifor 510, came across this trailer with the rear ramps, thought it was strange!

This is actually an excellent trailer. The ramp folds down for normal loading OR if you open the doors it enables a forklift to load a pallet of feed or hay ( or anything else) directly onto the trailer. We have had one of these trailers for many years and the flexibility means we get twice as much use out of it than a normal horse trailer. Some of our horses seem to prefer to just step into the trailer without the ramp too.
It's very difficult to find these trailers but if you can find one you are very lucky because they are brilliant
 
Yes it's been a fab trailer for us, use the barn door feature every time! We have just moved to a new house with massive driveway so I get to park it at home soon instead of paying to keep it at the farm.
 
I had the bateson with barn doors - they also have a small, slide out ramp so the horses dont have to hop up a step. That said, I never bothered using it as all mine happily jumped in.

Sorry to hi jack the post but what did you think of your Bateston trailer? These are my other choice of trailer (the Deauville).
 
yeh I liked it well enough - lots of people said they are better than ifors but i didnt notice a huge difference tbh.
