Since Charlie loves cross country we are going to do some arena eventing over winter then some ODE's and hopefully some BE in summer. Never really done cross country so never had any colours as it's my birthday coming up I thought it'd be a good present. He normally wear navy or royal blue, I was thinking navy with gold stars but didn't know if was a bit dark, plain and boring so maybe royal blue with white stars? Any other ideas on what would look good on a grey? Can't do black as all his tack and boots are brown and my matchy matchy ocd couldn't cope lol.

And royal blue:

If you want a colour to go with navy then bright green goes well for xc or pink. x

Not a great photo but C in red, I'm not a fan. I think burgundy would look better though.

Just seen these, bit different, quite like them, or a fashion no no? Not sure what saddle cloth would look good though.

I love the blue on him in the first pic, gorgeous and so smart. I would go for that blue with white or gold stars. How lovely, what fun!

I think he looks really good in the navy pic, so navy and white or navy and gold! Plus looks like you alreayd have boots and blanket and ears to match as well!
I was cheap with my mare, I went black and white haha as all my gear was black and white anyway! My orange I'm not so sure what colours to go for! SJing we are navy I would have loved green but couldn't find a green jacket!

Stars are what everyone seems to opt for. I like lots of the patterns out there.

I have seen some interesting grey horses ridden in yellow and blue with complimenting yellow and blue tack.

Black and white with a white bridle.
I like the purple and silver depending on the pattern.

I have turquoise XC colours for Roxy - she is chestnut but they'd look lovely on a grey.

I only like very plain XC tops for me - no stars or crosses or whatnot. It's my age, I feel they're for younger folks!

Thanks everyone for you ideas :) it seems the general thoughts are navy blue with another colour. He does look very smart in navy it's my go to colour for him. But does no one think it's a little boring for XC? OH likes the multi coloured the best as it's a bit different and stands out but no one likes it on here.

@Hailz22 he's got brown boots for cross country so I could have a new colour. Black and white would be a lot easier but I don't like him in black and white makes him look dirty! Chesnuts looks good in green, you could have a navy/black jacket and green saddle cloth and ears.

@newforest Oh god I could not put him a coloured bridle :p he'd look like a bog pony lol! Quite like purple and think it looks good on greys.

I keep looking through photos and like them all :p

I think navy is boring for XC! Nearly everyone is in black or navy! It looks smart but as a fence judge last year, the most memorable horse for me was one that rode in really smart red boots and matching colours. He was a bay and looked fab!

This is what I'm thinking @squidsin is navy nice for show jumping but a bit dull and not easy to spot for xc! I'm actually leaning towards the multi coloured set, it's quite different, a lot of people seem to have similar to each other.

At least I'd stand out lol just hope it would be for the right reasons :p
