I need some advice i want to put ollie on a feed for thevwinter hesvbackmin work but losing weight i was thinking eithr top spec or baileys conditioning cubes.

Yes 13.2 hh or 138 cms and a bit under weight even though rugged and on hay.... hes worked 6 days a week and will be in the show ring

Any advice

I would avoid cereals, being part arab and with, I assume, a young rider I wouldn't want to risk hyping him up ;) Allen and Page calm and condition is a great option for a fibre based conditioning feed :) you do soak it but it only takes about 10 mins and a mash is good for an older pony, plus you can take a flask of warm water to soak it so he can have a nice warming feed :p

My 7 yr old part bred Arab drops weight too easily. She's a fuss bag too...
This year, we've avoided weight loss [and in turn, the best tantrums you ever did see]
I feed Agrobs Muesli, Honeychop alfalfa with herbs, Thunderbrooks base mix and in the mornings, I give half a round scoop of ready mash extra [red bag by rowan barbury]
The mash doesn't 'hype' her up and she's a complete and utter drama queen. I wouldn't feed it to her if it caused explosive behaviour.

The beauty of the Agrobs is it's all fibre [forage] and keeps the stomach and gut in tip top condition.
The Honeychop has no added sugar and also promotes a healthy gut as well as encouraging salivation and chewing [which is key to a sane horse]
The base mix covers the 'missed' nutrients from the muesli and chop

The ready mash extra just keeps the weight on. It isn't heating, can be fed with hot or cold [my girly adores her hot breakfast] and will tempt even the fussiest of eaters
