2016.... Tracking Challenge( hours -ridden/inhand) add your photos as well

Thanks I AM getting a bit tired of it.
Maybe if i had a great body and loved to lay around and get a sun tan I'd like it better.

Had an ok 45 min ride it was a bit over cast so no horrible pounding sun. I bit of a breeze but not great.

Every day has to be a day closer to FALL RIDING WEATHER.;)

Nice 1.5 hr ride sun was still really low so most of the neigborhood was in shade.
The sun must be changing angle a bit though cause even in the sun its not feeling as bad.
There was no breeze though:(
Some things I will miss but some i totally wont!!
I wont miss the mess they are making and how there wont be any place for snow to be plowed or the massive Poison ivy along the guard rail.

Nice 45 min ride yesterday am did a little more focused riding.I am trying to get in the habit of
an am ride most days!! I'm not being so focus to point of it not being fun but as I'm riding I am having a little plan in my head a few minutes/go arounds ahead to go around do a couple figure 8 then up the hill over cavaletti then thru tires then around to halt in the small tire ETC. Then change it up to something else. Just small plans/course and its turning out to be a lot of fun. Heading out to feed in a sec I think its even cooler out this am!!

Nice to have a long weekend, but what strange weather! We had it go from sun to heavy rain in a few seconds even though there were hardly any clouds.

On Saturday we drove Monty, but soon after we started there was a huge downpour which really unsettled him so we gave up. I managed a quick (and dry!) hack around the block.

On Sunday I schooled in the field, but Bug really didn't want to play and kept napping back to the stables

On Monday I had a quiet amble round for a few hours included a chat with a lady who stopped her car and commended me for wearing high viz on such a hot day (I always do!). I also had a quick drive with Monty.

First day in the school for a month this morning, seems I've lost in some areas and gained in others - I had no issues with the standing trot which is pleasing :)
Although I've not been riding I have been around horses an awful lot the last few weeks what with our Riding of the Marches and.....getting our own one!:D
I will start another thread with the all important pictures

Another nice ride this am 45 min.
Woo hoo it was nice and cool really early out and I wore a sweatshirt:D;):) and lol "trousers"
It was quite nice out no bugs and just felt good with the sweatshirt on even when I got done and was walking back to the house the sun felt rather nice -- not like its been even very early lately!;)

Today I did a lot of trot since it was so lovely and cool.
Trotted cavaletti and then came to halt with just change in my seat then to back up with almost no rein pressure it was fun.

I am still riding mostly in my field and hacking has been just up and down the length of my road due to road works still going on. Although last Sunday the road was passable while the workmen weren't about so we were able to venture a bit further. I wish they would hurry up and finish the work:rolleyes: We have just been keeping things ticking over and having fun. I am just really enjoying spending time with my two before the dark nights set in and the horrid cold winter comes...I do like some things about winter but yard chores in the cold isn't one of them that I am looking forward too..
This is a few wee clips put together from today, it was very windy:eek: but still warm enough for a t-shirt :)

Total ridden 124 hrs 15 mins
Total in hand 29 hrs 30 mins

Quite a bit to catch up on from me.

I've had a fab week away at Hallagenna riding in Cornwall. Its right on the edge of the moor and where a lot of the first series of Poldark was filmed (the horses were based at Hallgenna). After an assessment lesson on Lucy (15hh ish suitable for a complete novice) they gave me Kidoo for the rest of the week. He is a 15hh ish 8 year old native type (I'm not good at breeds!) - he is normally used only by the staff as a lead horse so was pretty keen and suited me perfectly.

I had jumping lessons on 4 of the days. I've only ever jumped horses that are easy to jump which Kidoo isn't (he's not been jumping that long), so I learnt alot. I was taught by Jen who is a level 2 coach (I think!) and was head groom at Talland for a while.

I did 5 hacks on the moors mostly for a couple of hours, and normally with just me and a guide. There was quite a lot of cantering and galloping going on!

On the last day I did the Cream Tea trail ride, which was 5 1/2 hours riding, mostly off road with a stop after 4 hours for lunch. Oh how I wish my riding was like that normally! The couple who rode with me hadn't ridden longer than an hour before, and after 2 hours were already looking uncomfortable :(

Oh and on the way down I went to try a horse to buy. Chester is a 16.2hh warmblood x TB. I rode and jumped him in the school, and then took him in the field and jumped some XC jumps. He's a really nice boy, but I didn't feel he was forward enough for me. I was going to go and ride him again, but they sold him so the decision was made for me.

On Saturday we went down to the National Carriage driving championships to watch - I don't think we will ever be taking Monty there.

Yesterday I took Bug out for a couple of hours and got my things ready for Riding camp which is Friday to Sunday - more to follow on this!

I have got some pictures from the trail ride, but they are still in the camera.

Here are a couple of pics from my trail ride on Bodmin Moor. I didn't take many as Kidoo was one of those horses where you might suddenly need both hands :)

I think this is Roughtor

Popped out. Mine appears to have started September on the wrong hoof.
We had a spin then she turned into a heavy breather trying to get her past a van and trailer.
She's already floored me lunging.
She just isn't her usual self at the moment.

You have had quite a start to the month for sure..

HMM I just had a thought wonder what Andi will be like with BOYS right across the street:eek::eek::eek::eek:

I do hope the really handsome Paint that was talking to Sonny the day I had him at the house and seems to have the
closest paddock to the road - IS A GIRL!!!
UGH she may be a real handful for a while.

It's getting closer Less than 2 weeks til closing;)
;):D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
