User ignore

Can you please tell me if I put a member on user ignore, does that effectively block them from seeing anything I might post. Many thanks!
 
Oh damn - that's that then. Really don't want to see a single word they post but would rather they didn't read my posts either, shame really would be quite handy and save a lot of hassle if it worked that way. :(
 
I don't care who reads what I post. You wouldnt see if they quoted you, so you wouldn't respond.
 
It's a shame really, you would think wouldn't you that if you blocked someone they wouldn't be able to see anything you posted and you wouldn't see what they posted.

If you have someone on ignore you cannot see what they say, they can see your posts and comment on them. You CAN see what they say if someone quotes them
 
Has someone annoyed you? Tbh I don't care who reads my posts as its their time they are using, however I could imagine the ignore button could come in handy if I were to not want to waste my time reading theirs;) Hope you okay @Cortrasna. :) x

Thanks tikkitti I am absolutely fine - nothing major at all...just sifting through a few members just to improve my experience of using the forum based on my previous encounters. No big issue going on at all I can assure you. ;)

I ignore a couple of folk too and I agree that I would far prefer it if they were totally invisiblet to me, and me to them. You can still see they have replied even if you don't read the post. I used to get curious and check what was said sometimes but rapidly learned that my original instincts are usually correct and not to bother!! Any chance this can be changed @Mike ??

ETA Apart from anything else, it is a waste of someone's time to reply to a thread when the OP won't see it. I know that I would prefer not to see posts if I were being ignored so I did not bother replying in the first place.

Problem with having people on ignore when they can't see you and you can't see them it just encourages b!tch!ng.

This is a forum and unfortunately if you do not want opinions then you should not post, not everyone in the world is ever going to agree with you on any subject and if you put your life out there to be read on the internet then people are going to comment on it. There are people I don't get on with on forums, some I have met in RL and some I haven't but you take the good with the bad I had a few on UI but I have removed them because of their opinions can hurt me then There must be some truth to them i agree with in the back of my mind. If you didn't in some small way then they have no effect on you :)

Yes but if someone has blocked ME I can still see their threads and might waste my time replying when they won't see my reply.
 
The way I see it, at the top each person's posting it has there name clearly visible. If you have a problem with what they post, just scoff, be broad shouldered, don't read there post and just scroll on down the page.
Probably no one will want to read my posts now after me posting this.
Actually this is a thread from august.
