Maybe the vet is a bit miffed at how you have turned him around with Richards help or he was just having a bad day. You know how he was and how he is now Tracey thats what matters at the end of the day, you have both had a long hard battle and you are now seeing the results even if the vet seems to be a bit blind! Hope he wasn't charging you for that unhelpful visit!!!
can't wait for the next lot of pic's, at least you have a working camera, me I have it on my Christmas list!
I have been off work a couple of days, just no energy and feeling crap, feeling a bit better today so should be back at work tomorrow all being well.
Acorns fine, but I have put him out in day paddock last two days with me not feeling good, didn't want him on the roads when I'm likely to turn dizzy, don't think he'd run off if I let go but wouldn't want to take the chance.
Was thinking about you yesterday and Bobs Trim, just too tired to come on line much.
Hope hes feeling better having had the boots on today, but he maybe like acorn and a few days of soreness initially and then going from strength to strength I do hope so, keep smiling and postive
Hope everyone else is well and hooves okay, and you are coping with this awful weather......
in later

Have been on hols for a week so didnt really get a chance to get on and do any posting.
Glad to see hoofs are doing well mostly, cheekos are good. We are starting to do some work with her, she isnt backed yet so that will be fun!!!
Had my horse up at the vet last week for an ultrasound of her tendon. We got really good news, there is no sign of the tear at all now and no scar tissue or calcification which the vet expected. Thats just 9 months but i know we still are high risk of re injury but there isnt anything i can do to prevent it. Just pure luck i think.
Hi all, Linda - hope you feel better, ive had exactly the same thing as you, really lethargic and giddy at times. Im feeling ok at the moment though and looking forward to visiting my friend later ( she's cooking me tea )
Tracey -i can't believe what an ar**hole your vet was. As linda said maybe he's just really p****d off that bobs has done so well without his help. You know bobs best and if you're happy with him then thats all that matters. Carry on doing what you're doing because its obviously working. Chin up!
Nothing to report, OH put Barneys rain rug on yesterday, i was wondering why it was taking him so long to catch up with Pops and i ( she's always in a rush to get to the field so she gets to see her boyfriend Alfie and stuff her face ) anyway he had done up the leg straps wrong and Barnes was effectively hobbled. Other ladies on the yard had a good laugh and then went to poor Barneys rescue who by this time was thoroughly peed off and very embarassed ( he hates being the centre of attention ).
Hope everyone is enjoying thsi fabulous wet windy weather we're having - i know im not! mandy x

Did you go anywhere warm! Damn awful weather this.
great news on the horse front, you must be so pleased, your right you can't wrap them in cotton wool, just build up the level of fitness and don't rush it, you should be fine. Great news on Cheeko, we are hoping to start breaking Acorn after his next trim, hes already bitted and had the saddle on and our grandaughter has sat on him, shes only 3 and light so not sure he even noticed she was on top
You will have to keep us posted on how you get on

there you go, just needed to get used to the new feel after his manicure.
hope he was ok when you brought him in.
We didnt go anywhere warm im afraid, we went to oban for a long weekend and it piddled down most of the time , im very used to the rain though living in the west coast of scotland
My mumis away this weekend so im on horsey duty all on my own for 4 days argh, the muchkins are acting bananas at the moment, yesterday it was cheeko going nuts and doing the bronko's in the field and today it was one of my other shetties turn, midnight was going daft. Old trigs just wants in for his tea at night with no shinanigans. My mum was getting well stressed today, she even called midi a nasty name she was being so naughty
morin all hope evreybody well & hoofs so cold today again, not rainning up till now but weatherman said its going to rain again later . ( *** fun) paddocks going to turn into a mudbath. and where not even into winter fully yet,,
any way went to bobs at 3.00 aclock y-day to see how he was. he was standing there head down outside his shellter?? dripping wet he was rugged up . asked him if he wanted in ? look at the gate wiating it to be open so got his head coller and in he came to his stable.. you wouldnt think he was a cob?? so got him in feet where fine. left him with his haylage and went back around 630 last nite. he was fine no pulse in feet. very happy to be in the weather last nite just off to him now. to catch up later
glad all hoofs are well, very quit here this morin , bobs fine this morin was lying down when i got there at 9 this morin. nice warm stable. had b-fast rug on and hes out. left boots off today. walked slow but ok. when he got to the grass he was fine. so no pulse which is great news.
pop back in a bit housework again today
Hope you affeling a bit better today Linda...x Glad to hear Bobs trim went well and he's feeling good! Your vet is rather special isn't he....there are special names for people like him Obviously a man that has a bit of problem with being proved wrong
Bloody crap morning.... Had Lucys feet done... all seemed fine until the end.... farrier asked me to walk her up as not happy with her. Shes not right at all on the abcsess leg. I could have cried as shes been doing so, so well. He took a nail out as it was just by the hole where its still growing out. He said no signs of lami, no signs of abcsess, and to be honest is baffled. Even with the pinchers on, shes fine... He said to put her out and see how she is later on/ in the morning as shes not 'hopping lame' just not quite right.
She must have done something either last night or yesterday in her field as Decs has been riding her and alls been fine. I'm paranoid as shes changed fields this week (but still muzzled and only having approx 5 hrs a day) NO heat, no pulses.... I bet theres a damn abcsess brewing up again The only other thing thats changed is that I moved her bed round in her stable and yesterday and today, shes literally 'moved' the whole thing back... I know that sounds mad, but there are 2 mountains taller than her where shes been busy moving it all and rearranging the whole thing. Maybe shes pulled something?????
Going to be worried sick now until I go back down.....

hi Debbie
poor lucy, do hope she ok, worrying time when you move them? when you no things are going great, do hope she ok tonite x what is she like sorting out her bed didnt like the way mum moved it around fingers crossed she just putted herself moving her bedding around
Afternoon all, well I am feeling a bit better, cold has come now so will go back to work next week.
So Glad Bobs is okay Tracey, poor Lucy, hopefully shes just tweaked something like our Charlie did, his is fine now.
Don't you just love Shetties, complete bloodymindedness and totaly resistant to attempts for them to be anything else, but can't help love them all the same sounds as if you might have your handsful
All well here (apart from me), just going to sort them out now, get them settled before Dark, need to give Charlie a bit of Rescue Remedy in the event we get any fireworks, he and Tess will be staying out and Acorn in as usual, Tess won't be bothered shes used to them.

morin all hope everybody well. & hoofs are copeing with this cold & wet windy weather.
lin thanks xx hope your feeling better today.
hope little lucys is feeling better this morin as well xx bobs is fine got him in again a 330 y-day weather was so bad. and with him having his boots off i was so worried his feet where getting to wet. but they where fine no pulse. got him in and dryed him off. he was happy to be in . am not feeling to good today so think am going down with something again got to be all this wet weather . anyway better get ready to go to bobs catch up again later
Morning all from a very foggy East Yorks! Pea soup weather here and bloody cold with it!
great news re Bobs Tracey, sorry you are not feeling too good, hope your not getting what I had, I am feeling a lot better today, just a fuzzy head and cold now.
Acorn is well and out in Top paddock, he was sweated up yesterday from running around when I brought him in, put his fleece on for a couple of hour just to stop him chilling and he dried off quite nicely bless him..... he's really not too happy being up in top paddock on his own but will try and get him back down to the fields over the weekend for some Company, hes got company on a night as all the others are in now and he can talk to Ollie through the stable partition. No bother at all last night, no local fireworks so that was good, Tess and Charlie where fine, all bangs where a mile or so away so they just had the displays which Charlie was mesmorised by.
Hope everyone else is well and safe, hope Lucy is more comfortable and those shetties are not causing too much trouble
well the weather here is fine!! quite a nice day!!
Well madam is fine this morning.... so no idea what was up with her yesterday????? Her bed had been moved again (when I say she moves it, I do literally mean she moves the whole thing back to where it was, it must take ages) So in an atempt to stop this, I dutifully put it back to how it was so hopefully the princess may be a bit happier tonight and rest those legs!!!
Ahh, smiling at Lucy, what a diva, she obviously knows what she wants bless
The two girls that help out with ponys left their jackets hanging up in Barneys stable, they must have been there for about a week or so so i didnt think much of it ( if they had been left in Pops stable i would have taken them out as she would probably have eaten them ) anyway this morning i found them in a poo and piddle stained heap. He must have just taken a dislike to them cluttering up his stable and taught them a lesson in the night silly old bugger.
Anyway im off to get the gruesome twosome in, will check in again later, hope everyone is feeling better after these nasty lurgies lurking around x

Well Barney gave them long enough to claim them I suppose! thats a lesson learnt then.
Great news re Lucy, she is obviously very particular
Glad everyone is okay, felt a bit better this afternoon so took Acorn out for a little walk up the road, he was ready to go after being confined for the last 4 days to his paddock, think he would have gone on for miles, but it tired me out, anyway put him in as it forcast rain and true to form its now sheeting down again so another wet night for feeding up Should dampen anyones thoughts of bonfires tonight with a bit of luck, so we may escape any firework issues again, I hate the things always have but I do try not to be a killjoy, just can't see the point in them.
anyway going for a warm up and a cup of Tea before I go down the yard.
Well, well, well, she obviously is a bigger princess than I ever had her down as... this morning her bed was just as I'd left it what a madam... she really does know what she wants and has me totally sussed as being a very soft touch mum at least I know what the problem was! So shes fine!
I'm with you Linda, I hate fireworks with a passion. Luckily we're just far enough away for them not to be a problem, but they have both been coming in early just in case.
Seems the cold may just be kicking in enough to stop the grass growing, now just got to watch the frosts....
Evening all, well plenty of fireworks last night but all's well, Charlie coped really well with them no stupid behaviour thank goodness, just got his leg right.
Acorns well, hes been round the village on walks over the weekend doing the full round trip and hes great - full of it and enjoyed it, he went round with Tess on Saturday and was full of himself showing off to her He stopped to meet the vicar at the church this morning, she duly taken with him gives him plenty of attention at which point he decided enough was enough, looked her up and down, stuck his nose in the air and decided to march off, leaving her stood there, I did explain he don't do pampering much
its cold here today but I am feeling much better, it was worming day for Tess and Charlie, Tess sulked for over an hour afterwards and Charlie was a little sod but at least he don't sulk
Well going for a warm near the fire now, do hope everyone is safe and well and will be back in tomorrow for updates.
Frost tonight forcast so will be a cold one in the morning,
hope all hoofs are well. s**t weather still bobs is ok, just worried his neck has gone hard again but no pluse or heat? phone richard but i no hes on a course. so not heard from him yet . i no its with me moving him to this other paddock, but thats what i was asked to do by the owner because they wanted that paddock for new horse.( mare * foal) which has upset the other horse there with him being male. now they asked me to move bob to a other paddock so they can move the male horse over. it didnt go down well i said NO... if i move bobs again it want to his feet any good the paddock is on a hill .. just so p*ssed off at the min
