Izzy was also unbalanced and we didn't canter for about 3 weeks. Then we did it in the school and a few times he did feel a bit too close to the floor! But he wasn't really - nowhere near falling over but it felt a bit

He was worse on one rein so we just cantered on his strong rein at first and now we are working on his weaker rein. We are getting there.

I am lucky having 3 lessons a week, I work for myself so can arrange my schedule to fit in with riding lessons! I do tell my clients that I am in meetings though.

I pap myself thinking about canter since my accident. still haven't done it yet on my ardennes since I fell off. But I have cantered on my criollo I think its the western saddle that gives me a bit more confidence and whom I am riding with. I think I may try hypnotherapy next!

Thanks Tiga, will make sure I use his stronger side when I do have a go, doesn't look like it's going to be this weekend based on the weather, he's as high as a kite tonight, so got a bit of a preview. I will not be riding in wind for the forseeable!!
Yikes, I'm not sure if I want to know what happened daftdraught! Let me know if hypnotherapy works though, at least you have done it on a different horse. Do you think your ardennes misses not getting the opportunity to canter?
